The Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10354), informally known as the Reproductive Health Law or RH Law, is a law in the Philippines, which guarantees universal access to methods on contraception, fertility control, sexual education, and maternal care.
Now that you know already the meaning of RH Law, which side are you? Pro or Anti?
The passage of the legislation was controversial and highly divisive, with experts, academics, religious institutions, and major political figures declaring their support or opposition while it was pending in the legislature.
According to an answer posted on Yahoo answer by Angel06, a Pro-RH Bill believes that this law will prevent unwanted pregnancies. Here is what she said. “I am Pro-RH bill. It is because I believe in the power of CHOICE.
I believe that every person has the right to have this option. I believe that RH Bill will prevent unwanted pregnancies and in my opinion, we do not need to do abortion because there will be no offspring in the first place. I also believe that the sanctity of life can be preserved using the RH Bill because if life is created in this world, it must be cherished and loved. But what if it comes from an unexpected pregnancy? That baby will be abandoned, and maybe die or either grow up with a resentment for his parents and maybe, for people itself.
Also, I believe that a bigger population does not mean manpower(there are many jobless people in the Phils.) and if it increases, our country will deteriorate due to our limited resources.
that is what I can say.” What do you think about her opinion?
Let’s move to the side of the people of Anti-RH Bill. Well according to an article posted on a blog site called HUMANOVERTHERE. You could visit it right after you finish reading my article. Well, according to it, It will only provoke people to initiate pre-marital sex and also according to the article, Condoms, Pills, and other contraceptives will only disrespect the holiness of marriage which is a very sacred thing to all humans and of course to the church. What do you think?
Here are some of the factors that divide people and choosing different sides according to an article posted by Grace Nicholas.
1. Prevention of Maternal deaths.
2. Provides free medical treatment from the barangay with the professional health practitioner.
3. Prevention of abortion.
4. Empowerment of women and Promotion of breastfeeding.
5. Right to choose between the Natural and Modern method of family planning.
6. Access to age-appropriate sex education in schools.
7. Provides quality of life.
8. Availability of contraception in the barangay.
9. Population Management.
10. Long term benefits.
1. Legalized abortion.
3. Will go to hell because of the promotion of contraceptives which from them is abortifacient.
5. Promote promiscuity.
6. Will increase the HIV/AIDS in the country.
7. Prevention of having a baby which contradicts the teaching of the church “Humayo kayo at magpakarami”.
8. Mandated two child policy.
9. The population is not the cause of poverty.
10. Pills could cause pimples and cancer.
Now that we know the reasons of both side which side are you? Are you still on the side of the Pro? or the Anti? For me, RH BILL will not promote abortion and initiation of early sexual intercourse but it is a propagation for all of us to create life with love and care not to create life and then put it in a box or plastic or sacks and throw it in the river just because we are not ready for responsibility and we can’t provide everything it needs. Also, it is us people that control our life but always put it in your mind that “The more the Merrier” thing is not for all but for those people who can sustain life and everything it needs that will only give them good benefits. We know that life is what God gives us and it is a very important thing. But do you consider those street children, homeless, seeking for food, begging for coins, and freezing to death at night? They almost kill themselves struggling to sustain everything they need every day. RH Bill may not be the prevention and answer to our problem but it is our responsibility to create life and provide everything they need for them to grow and to be nurtured and also for them to be educated and share their knowledge to everyone who is struggling for survival and changing their lives better.
CREATE LIFE WITH LOVE AND CARE, NOT JUST GIVING BIRTH FOR IT TO CALL IT LIFE.
